Worship.

Worship is a condition of the heart. It’s not about songs, styles, choirs, bands or definitions like traditional, contemporary, vintage, or alternative… worship is essentially a lifestyle. It’s a living response to who God is and what He’s done for us. Everything begins and ends with worship. As a community this is first and foremost how we want to see the world. Everything we do is ultimately about the worship and praise of God. This value extends far beyond our “worship” time on Sunday. It should penetrate deep into our homes, workplaces, and schools. It should be a hallmark of our joys, triumphs, failures, and desperation. As a community we want to be driven by our desire to worship God with our very lives.

SUNDAY MORNING.

We are a community made up of people from all ages, backgrounds, and walks-of-life. Maybe you’ve grown up in church or maybe you’ve never darkened the door. Maybe you’re frustrated, disenchanted, searching or just new to OKC. We want you to know that anyone and everyone is welcome. We would love for you to come and check-out our community, “kick the tires” so to speak. Who knows, you might be surprised by what you find. On a Sunday morning you can expect a “come as you are” environment where authentic worship and solid biblical teaching are the cornerstones of our time together. As a community we are well aware that the Church is not a building, and truthfully it cannot be defined by a location. The Church is where the people of God gather. While we love our space, it's just that... a space. It’s just a place where the community gathers, thus serving as a reminder that we are as much the church at 37th and Western on Sunday morning, as we are when we meet for bible study in someone's home or when we have family picnics in the park.

BAPTISM.

If you are interested in being baptized, or have a question about baptism, please contact one of our Pastors and we will get in touch with you right away.

What is baptism?

"We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life." (Romans 6:4)

When a christian is baptized, you fulfill what Jesus has commanded. "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20)

You are submerged in water to identify with the death of Jesus and rise out of the water to identify with his resurrection. This identification with the death, burial, and resurrection through baptism testifies to the fact that we believe in faith that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, rose three days later, and now is alive and Lord over all creation!

Who should be baptized?

If you’ve surrendered your life Jesus, we encourage you to follow Jesus’ command to be baptized as a public profession of your faith in Him. If you are interested in being baptized or have questions about baptism please e-mail us. roundedemail

Prayer.

Nineteenth Century Norwegian teacher, writer, and theolgian Ole Hallesby wrote this about prayer: “Prayer is the breath of the soul, the organ by which we receive Christ into our parched and withered hearts.”
